Away from the city sites and sounds lies Bang Kra Jao, the “green lung” of Bangkok, a tucked away green oasis with fresh air, jungle scenery, and local communities living a more traditional way of life. If it weren't for the city skyline, you would never believe you're still within Bangkok city limits! On this Bangkok bicycle tour, venture beyond the tourist track, on to exhilarating elevated canal pathways, and into jungle scenery dotted with bright tropical flowers.

• Meet at the back parking lot Suan Plern Market at 8:15 for morning departures or at 12:45 for afternoon departures. More info below.
• Cross the river by ferry and venture into Bang Kra Jao, where city streets begin to change to natural, green scenery.
• Take a deep breath of fresh air at Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park & Botanic Garden, a green oasis offering an escape from the city sites and smells.
• Pedal through lush tropical vegetation, passing through local communities living a slower, traditional pace of life.
• Visit the 250 year old Wat Bang Nan Phueng community temple, nestled in this lush, green area.
• On weekend departures, visit Bang Nam Phueng Floating market Bangkok’s lesser known floating market largely undiscovered by tourists. We allow time to visit and eat at this unique market, a popular weekend activity for locals.

The total ride is about 20 kilometers starting with a short section in the city before crossing the river. From there it's a combination of minor roads and elevated pathways, through temple gardens and tropical jungle with no hills. The elevated canal pathways may not be suitable for those afraid of heights, but we think they add to the adventure!

Meeting Point

We meet at the back parking lot of Suan Plearn Market on Rama IV Road. If taking the BTS you need to get off at Phromphong station, use exit 4 and walk straight to Sukhumvit Soi 26. Here you can take a motorcycle taxi or a regular taxi to Suan Plearn Market, distance is 2.6 km and it takes only 10 minutes traveling. We don't recommend walking.
